Reggae Band from Peru ENGLISH Jagannath Reggae Band is the result of the union of some musicians friends, who have different spiritual beliefs, but they have a same goal, to express themselves through the reggae rhythm. Its first presentation was on March, 9 of 2001, during the festival called “Gaura Purnima” in Chosica, Lima. From that moment this band has been participating in many presentations, sharing the stage with bands like: Apple Gabriel - Israel Vibration (Jamaica), Los Cafres (Argentina) Quique Neira – Gondwana (Chile), Cultura Profética (Puerto Rico), Jhonny Dread (Cuba) and Nuevas Raíces (Argentina) among others. The first CD called “Jiv Jago”, was released on July 16, 2002 in the C.C. “La Noche de Barranco”, this CD was played by different radio stations of Lima City. The Sanskrit word Jagannath means “The God of the Universe”. This band transmits peace, that is why they participate in many festivals that support ecology, human and animal rights, among others. The style that this band has, has helped them to spread their music in different towns of Peru just like; Cañete, Ica, Arequipa, Majes, Cuzco, Puno, Huanuco, Satipo, Chimbote, Chiclayo, Pimentel, Mancora. Besides others tours abroad like in, Ecuador (Cuenca, Guayaquil, Montañita) and Bolivia (La Paz, Oruro and Cochabamba). SPANISH Jagannatha reggae band, es la unión de algunos amigos y músicos de diferentes credos, pero con un sólo sentimiento; expresarse mediante el ritmo y fusión del REGGAE MUSIC. Su primer concierto fue el 9 de marzo del 2001 en el Festival de "Goura Purnima" en Chosica - Lima. Participando desde entonces en una infinidad de conciertos nacionales e internacionales, compartiendo escenario con bandas y artistas como: Apple Gabriel - Israel Vibration (Jamaica), Los Cafres (Argentina) Quique Neira – Gondwana (Chile), Cultura Profética (Puerto Rico), Jhonny Dread (Cuba), Nuevas Raíces (Argentina) y más. Su primer CD denominado "Jiv Jago" (despierten almas) fue lanzado el 16 de julio del 2002 en el C. C. La Noche de Barranco, siendo este difundido por algunas emisoras de Lima y provincias. Jagannatha (Yaganata), idioma sánscrito que significa "Dios del Universo", es una banda que lleva consigo mucha reflexión y paz, es por ello que son partícipes de numerosos festivales a favor de la ecología, derechos humanos y defensa animal. Su peculiar estilo los a llevado también por diferentes pueblos del Perú, algunos lugares son: Cañete, Ica, Arequipa, Majes, Cuzco, Puno, Huanuco, Satipo, Chimbote, Chiclayo, Pimentel, Mancora y otros. También han realizado algunas giras a países vecinos como: ECUADOR (Cuenca, Guayaquil, Montañita) y BOLIVIA (La paz, Oruro y Cochabamba).
